Deputy Director General of FIRDI, Prof. Tony, J, Fang and Director of BCRC (Bioresource Collection and Research Centre), Dr. Gwo-Fang Yuan represented FIRDI in the signing ceremony in Tokyo, Japan. This bilateral MOU and Agreement will not only prompt the services but also enhance the reputation as well as visibilities for both parties
Under the Agreement, promotional activities as well as exchange of skills and information, will be provided (but mot limited to) as follows:
Services provided by a biological resource center which is within the competence of each Party;
Procedures, precautionary statements and other relevant information on transboundary microbial transfer;
Translation of material distribution manuals or other relevant documents;
The list of strains provided by the Party.
Microbial identification using Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS);
NBRC accepts deposit of biological materials that are newly named or having potential usefulness for academic and industrial uses. We assign NBRC number to the deposited biological materials and will make them available to the public.
NITE Patent Microorganisms Depositary (NPMD) and International Patent Organism Depositary (IPOD) are designated as International Depositary Authorities (IDA) under the Budapest Treaty. NPMD and IPOD accept, preserve and furnish patent biological materials.
The online catalogue is a database search system for microbial strains distributed by the NBRC. You can perform a search by entering the strain number, scientific name, source locality and keywords. Our database also provides sequence data, culturing condition, and original source.
Please make sure to obtain appropriate permit for strains which are under regulation(s) for distribution. All information such as regulation, biosafety level, culturing condition of the strain are described at NBRC online catalog.
If your government agency requires a document for importing, please send us the form along with the order sheet. Please refer to the following webpage for the detailed conditions
We accept payment by bank remittance or credit card (VISA or Master). We do not accept payment by cash or check.
