NBRC: Distribution services
All the strains preserved at NBRC can be found in the NBRC Culture Catalogue.
The online catalogue is a database search system for microbial strains distributed by the NBRC. You can perform a search by entering the strain number, scientific name, source locality and keywords. Our database also provides sequence data, culturing condition, and original source.

Conditions for distribution and utilization
Please make sure to obtain appropriate permit for strains which are under regulation(s) for distribution. All information such as regulation, biosafety level, culturing condition of the strain are described at NBRC online catalog.
If your government agency requires a document for importing, please send us the form along with the order sheet. Please refer to the following webpage for the detailed conditions

We can ship a strain after verifying your payment.
We dispatch a strain as L-dried (glass ampoule), Frozen-thawed culture disc (plastic tube) and/or living culture (slant, vial bottle, and so on) by Express Mail Service (EMS).
Reactivation of strain culture
On receipt of the strain culture, please reactivate as soon as possible following the methods included in the package. You can obtain information to revive the strain culture, from “instruction for cultures” below. Please don’t hesitate to send us any further questions.
